I'll say it, since no one else has. Monique. You would need power, like a small class d or a PA, but what you are seeking is Monique. I hear great things about the SonicFarm 2DI4, they are a Canadian company. Just get a high quality pre and you are set for most stuff. There is a demonique for sale in the classifies. A Monique with a Demeter 800D. It's like 12 pounds, 800 watts, and small. You can get as loud or as quiet as you need for just about anything within reason. Monique has a little vb4, svt, hiwatt, sunn thing going for her. But she also has her own thing going.

As for the cab?? MAS makes a few really neat cabs, a 6x6 would make a killer rig. Baerfaced 69'er might be more like what you are used to, with a weight and size savings. The Baer ML112 is also quite popular these days.

OH Yup with transformers bigger than your head and 671 volts on the plates, wired Ulra Linear like the Marshall Major (but reliable) to shake that last little dribble out of a quad of KT88's.
That will of course be a mighty Simms Watts AP200 Super.
Now the only problems are: its about the same weight, but even bigger than an SVT and then best of luck finding one. Mine will be pryed from my cold dead hands by my sons, no doubt!.:-(

The V4B will give you the sound from a head that you want but I have found out that anything sounds better through an 8 10. It sounds like you ( like me) are pretty hooked on the Ampeg 8 10 sound. I've looked and listened to a lot of cabs and while some have come pretty close I have yet to find anything else that I like as much. It seems we are doomed to haul 8 10's around with us till we croak. On that note , my son is studying to be a mortician. I told him that when I croak to take the speakers out of one of my 8 10's and bury me in the sucker.
