Since when is an amp with an EQ not part of standard gig gear?

Since a lot of us started playing ampless gigs. If you really want the deepest tone you can get, you need to find gigs where the PA has very capable subs, and leave the amp at home. There is no bass amp rig on the planet that can do what a great PA can - solid, earthshaking low end that isn't the least bit muddy (mud comes from trying to get low end out of a rig that can't do it, not from well reproduced low end).
