The most exciting part was the e-mail from cliff on the day it arrived that said: Time to nail down the specs for your next build.

So today I logged some time plugged in. The pickups are Nordstrand DCs. Each wired separately to be switchable parallel/series/single coil. I based this choice on online sound clips and am not disappointed. Both through my quilter bass block 800 and barefaced One10 stack and my Forté HP and NXT112 stack. This thing sounds, feels and looks amazing!

I need to underscore just how comfortable this bass is to play. It balances beautifully. Is under 7 pounds, the neck is so comfortable in the hands, and the upper frets are so accessible. Cliff has outdone himself. This is the work of a true master.

I noticed the cutaway to the higher frets. Brilliant. Every bass should have that same access

Looks like a lot to be impressed with by this bass! That hybrid top is eye catchingly unique, but it's the details that make a bass… there's something about that veneer between the fretboard and neck (and the way it interacts with the side dots) that is a particularly nice addition.

I agree with the fretboard veneer being beautifully executed. Cliff is an artist.
