Hi, I'm buying a new bass and I saw the LTD B-1004/5 and the Ltd Surveyor. Have you tried this bass ? is the Surveyor a quality bass ?

LTD basses - opinions ?

There's a really nice 5er at the shop where my son has drum lessons. I've played it a few times and would probably snag it if the string spacing were a bit wider. I really dunno what model it is, but they only want $300 for it.
i can honestly tell you that I am not a fan personally of LTD basses. Not that they're bad or anything like that. I just have my own preference. (I like to have more finesse than LTD usually gives) But I do like is Metal, and I do think that most LTD basses sound great for Metal. I like the necks on LTDs pretty good too. The B-1004 is pretty comfortable to me when I have played around with them. I think you're going to do good with that one.
I dont know the exact models you're discussing, but I used to own an LTD B404. It was a GREAT bass and I kinda wish I had it back. Full EMG electronics (pickups and pre) made it roar. Body was lightweight ash and the neck was a dream.

I'm not a fan of the surveyors. But I do like the F and B series basses. Very good qaulity overall imo. And with nice modern growly sound to them.
