Hey TB Upright brothers and sisters!
I am presently on the verge of relocating from Arizona to Columbus OH, and am actively seeking any references for accomplished bass luthiers in the Ohio area. I’ve got two uprights, a 5/8 for Jazz work, and 3/4 for orchestral work. Both have been somewhat savaged by 17 years in the Southwest “climate.”
More broadly, it would seem appropriate for players to have a target thread to post reviews of luthiers in their area. I used the search function; but most posts seem to be up to 15 years old; and I know for a fact that there have been big changes in the active luthier scene. For example, I used to use Guarneri House up in GR MI; but, there have been significant changes there in the last few years.
So, what do you all think? Should we maintain a reference thread for this purpose?
