Three good buddies were laughing and smokin' in the back of a rented Ford.....
They couldn't know they weren't going far......

Oh look, I've already been in this thread, seven years ago! Well... in addition to ^^^that couplet, the single succinct lines that I always cite whenever this question comes up are:
- "Sunshine bores the daylights out of me" (The Rolling Stones, from "Rocks Off")
- "I'm a back door man; the men don't know, but the little girls understand" (The Doors, from "Backdoor Man")
- "Didn't it feel good just sitting there talking, or lying there not talking?" (Joni Mitchell, from "Free Man In Paris")
- "I wish life could be Swedish magazines" (Iggy Pop, from "5 Foot 1")
- "Well I did not think the girls could be so cruel, and I'm never going back to my old school" (Steely Dan, from "My Old School")
- "Your god hates me, he can't feel my flesh, he leaves me panting like a dog at the edge of your bed" (Thalia Zadek, from "1926")
Ooh, one more that I forgot:
"Our president's crazy; did you hear what he said?" (Talking Heads, from "Making Flippy Floppy")
What is this that stands before me?
Figure in black which points at me
Turn around quick and start to run.
Find out I'm the chosen one.
Big black shape with eyes of fire
telling people their desire
Satan sitting there he's smiling.
watches those flames get higher and higher.
Oh no, please God help me.
Is it the end my friend?
Satan's coming round the bend.
people running cause their scared.
You people that are going beware.
No. No. Please No......
"Fade Into You" - Mazzy Star
I want to hold the hand inside you
I want to take the breath that's true
I look to you, and I see nothing
I look to you to see the truth
You live your life, you go in shadows
You'll come apart, and you'll go black
Some kind of night into your darkness
Colors your eyes with what's not there
Fade into you
Strange you never knew
Fade into you
I think it's strange you never knew
A stranger's light comes on slowly
A stranger's heart without a home
You put your hands into your head
And then smiles cover your heart
Fade into you
Strange you never knew
Fade into you
I think it's strange you never knew
Fade into you
Strange you never knew
Fade into you
I think it's strange you never knew
I think it's strange you never knew
This lyrical line from Metallica's Fixxxer:
"BUT TELL ME, CAN YOU HEAL WHAT FATHER’S DONE?
OR FIX THIS HOLE IN A MOTHER’S SON?
CAN YOU HEAL THE BROKEN WORLDS WITHIN?
CAN YOU STRIP AWAY SO WE MAY START AGAIN?
TELL ME, CAN YOU HEAL WHAT FATHER’S DONE?
OR CUT THIS ROPE AND LET US RUN?
JUST WHEN ALL SEEMS FINE AND I’M PAIN-FREE
YOU JAB ANOTHER PIN, JAB ANOTHER PIN IN ME"
Against the Wind by Bob Seger
It fit my life!

I crucified my hate and held the world within my hand.

Is there a particular song whose lyrics just grab you? Perhaps even a line or couplet? A chorus that really stirs your soul?
I'm a bit bored, and y'all are always entertaining.
