mac demarco and his glorious bass tone

i’m showing my young age here talking about this guy, but i heard mac demarco “2” and “salad days” earlier this year and his bass tone is amazing. he uses a teisco bass, and i’m unsure of the strings but it’s likely chromes flats judging by the silk. he records either DI or through a silver face fender twin or vibrochamp. PLEASE TALK MORE ABOUT THIS GUY!!!

also his basslines are really amazing, check out “let her go”, it’s a high-up-the-neck melodic bass part that must have been a paul mccartney impression

yup, he did a little no no when she said no no, if i remember correctly. basically a creep. he’s replaced him another short guy on tour who i’ve seen uses an ampeg svt.
