Macbook Pro Anger

Hey guys,

So I just recently bought the Macbook pro with Retina Display. The damn thing doesn't have a mic output/input jack so I can't record the way i did before with an adapter jack and cable straight from the bass.

It's looking like the only way I can record direct in is if i purchase an audio interface.

Have any of you resolved this issue a different way? And if not could you recommend me some cheap audio interface gear?

Nope. Early adopter gets the hot end of the flaming stick as usual.
Especially if you spend without researching the specs.

These work great too for a $100 input device. Apogee Jam. I use them all the time for ideas. Clean input device for MacBookPro's. You use the std 1/8 headphone out of the computer.

I just mentioned this device in another thread. I put off buying one for a long time, as I had my doubts. Trust me, you will be surprised at the quality and ease of use.

You're gonna have to get an interface instead of complaining and trying to use a soundcard that was not designed to work well with instrument/mics anyway.

six bucks, will do the job like you're used to doing it, although wont sound as good as big time interface, should still do what you did with your old computer

If you can spend a bit more and want something compact, I've had good experiences with the Apogee One, and it has a built in mic, too.

of course its not, you can clearly see the circut board in there, but some people gotta have tubes...

One possibility is that because with a Mac you get what you get and some of us are financially chained to the damned things because of software (Vectorworks in my case) that isn't ported to Windows or Linux.
