Mackie SRM450 V1 amp

I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if the power amp assembly from a V2 or V3 SRM450 will work with the V1 speaker. I have one that won't power on, even though it's getting power through the switch. I can't find a replacement for it, but have found newer versions.

I will be curious to hear - I just picked up a pair of V1's for $150 and can't believe how good they sound. They are just kind of heavy - great monitors

They are great speakers. And, you got a steal on yours.
I'm not sure who to call about them. I'm trying to find out who owns mackie now. When I do find out, I will post here with the results.

Loud Technologies, same as it has been for years. The contact info is right there on the website:Contact Support - Mackie
They mention that their tech support dept does not handle discontinued products, but I'm sure they can point you in the right direction. Best of luck!

Heads up : Some of the first gen SRM450 were made by RCF in Italy, check if they are made in Italy or USA

The ones made in USA all had a big problem : they shuted down when over heated.

Not possible. I was able to get mine fixed by a local tech. It was a resistor that burned. He said it took a lot of tracing down because of how the boards are made. He also told me there is a guy in Washington, that used to work for mackie, that still does repairs on them for a flat rate. It may be worth having a tech check it out first.
