Bump. Looking for cool pix or to inspire the macro fiends to bust out their cameras and click off a few closeups of their pedals.

I like the last one burgermeister. Did you set up a tripod?

I'm just using a point & shoot on my shots (Nikon Coolpix S210) set to macro (the little flower setting) on a cheap tripod. The camera has exposure compensation settings that I noodled with. A bunch turned out of focus nut no complaints. As for lighting it is just incandescent lightbulbs from a small overhead "chandelier".

I know some of the guys in the basses subforum have macro lens on digital SLR's. I was hoping some of them would come along.

I'm pretty sure on the ones I took that are pretty close and in focus; I had the camera set far away and the zoom; including digital, maxed. At such settings a tripod is pretty necessary or else you wind up with blurry pics due to slow shutter speeds. Natural lighting can help. If weather permits you may have better luck outside.

I worked at a camera shop for a while when digital was first coming out, so I have a basic knowledge of 35mm P&S and SLR. Digital is not that different when it comes to camera functions. The limitations of P&S are lifting a bit with digital, but there is definitely more you can do with an SLR and a decent collection of lenses.

Looking forward to the new shots. :D

Edit: Just saw you are from LA....I'm pretty sure weather permits....:D

  12. I generally don't participate much in the effects forum, but I always love good pictures (even though I'm no photographer!).

Nice; Joe From Colorado. The swirls are trippy; is that a Polish Love?

EDIT: Forgot to give props to S.M.B. for his vivid tuner pics. I can make out your reflection in the foot switch.

  18. For anyone interested in making a nice little budget do-it-yourself mini-photo studio, check this link out.

That's what I used to get my Korg tuner shots in as well as my most recent bass pics in the Macro Bass thread (only the bass body fit though).
