So this is a Magma Transpositor Bass, it's a little 5 String Acoustic Bass w/ a 25.5 inch Scale Length. They make Special Strings for it which are Nylon wound in Metal (like the Wound Strings of Classical Guitar string sets)
& they have a lower tension than Steel strings so they're gentle on the fingers.
By the by, to whom it may concern, Magma has put out a, let's call it bass-VI set for standard, 25.5" acoustic guitars, called Transpositor MI-E Bass Sound - Phosphor Bronze Wound (GAT-E):

(Sold out at their USA webstore, at the moment.)
Basically, a bronze - and, I presume, steel-core - version of the nylon-core, silver-plated roundwound GCT-E for classical guitar.
I am looking at this bass with serious interest! Does anyone know if it is available in a fretless version?
Did you purchase yours from the Magma USA online store?
