Mailloux Custom 9-string fretless

I found an '06 custom Mailloux 9-string fretless on the ebays just now. The serial number on the back of the neck is 004, I believe. This thing is gorgeous and I really want a 9-string fretless. I figure trying to get this one would potentially be much cheaper than having one built for me.

Anyone have any thoughts on Mailloux basses?

I checked out the website and everything looks nice, but I can't really find any reviews online about this bass or anything else from Mailloux. I'm betting it's because he hasn't been making basses for very long. Anyway, thanks for reading, appreciate any responses! Peace.

From what I've seen on other forums, Mailloux basses are great quality, and cheap considering they built entirely by one person (being Phil Mailloux). Phil is a genuine guy and honest about his work, from what I've seen. Why don't you shoot him an email and ask him any questions you might have

Stoutkraut, since you asked about that 9 string I figured I'd post the build thread for it that was in the Luthier's Corner.

There's finished pics of the bass and a video of it on pages 8 and 9. I should probably state for the mods I've got nothing to do with the Ebay sale besides the fact I built the bass. The Ebay sale is by the customer who ordered this bass.
