Major noob question

So I have a new Genz head and 1 cab - and the amp has parallel outs.

I only have a single 1/4 in cable. Do I need two if I'm only using a single cab? Also, they are marked +1 and -1. What's the deal with that? Which one do I use? (the amp has two speakon outs, but the cab only has one - whereas they each have 2 1/4 in...)

Help please!

If your 1/4" cable is a speaker cable, it's all you need. The parralel output is for using two cabs. Just ignore it for now.

1/4' is prone to failure, and amp cooking short circuits. Buy Speakon, as soon as you're able.

only use on of the outs to the cab, the other is for another cab. The +1-1 refers to the wiring in the cable. It means that there is only one set of wires comming out of the head jack (not 2 sets like a bi-amped GK)

If you connect 1/4 inch or speakons use only one cable, th erest is for multi cab rigs.

Thanks! I wanted speakon, but they only had very long ones available at the time.

So can I not use the 3 foot speaker cable for the tuner out after I get the speakon?

No. Wrong kind of wire. You need instrument cable for the tuner out to tuner. Preferably Canare GS6, with G&H, Nuetrik, or Switchcraft plugs.

The subject of speaker vs instrument cable has been done to death. Do a search.
