So I was a two time looser when purchasing the Ampeg PF-115HE to match with my Ampeg PF-20T. I wanted my setup to be fliptop for stowing the amp when not practicing at home and then easy transport for low volume writing sessions with my band. I go to install it in one of the pf-115’s and it doesn’t fit, try the other and damn if it doesn’t fit that one either! LOL
So of course I come to the conclusion that I have the early version if this cab that won’t fit the PF tube amps.
Mind you, I’m not bitching or anything and know that it was a possibility. I also like to fabricate and fix issues, so this was fine by me. I removed the speaker and all other components, measured twice and made my cuts. I used a whole saw so I could get my hand saw in there and took my time cutting. Used some padded tape on the recessed area so as not to scuff the amp when storing or removing the amp. It took me a couple of hours because I really wanted it to look good. Very happy with the way it turned out.
