Because Eden doesn't have anything comparable to the Ampeg combos at the same pricepoints, at least here in the U.S. As I said, in the UK, the situation may be different, especially with Warwick. IME spending that kind of money up front only puts more pressure on someone to excel immediately. You lose the ability to blame poor progress on your gear
For some reason people keep giving cookie-cutter answers to questions without getting into specifics. Here's what I don't know:
Which Ampeg is silverthread looking at?
Does it have an extension speaker jack?
What does silverthread consider light?
Would wheels help on a combo?
How loud will his gig be?
Will there be PA support?
