Making a combo out of small cab and head (EA content)

Old bike innertube, and a piece of nylon webbing for a handle. The benefit of the strap handle is that it's long enough to go over the head. (It can be any length you want). Also, the innertube lets me attach more cables, my book of charts, etc. Short of a true combo, it's the most handy amp I've ever used.

That is the definition of DIY. The only thing missing is duct tape. You should put a strip down on the top and write your name with a sharpie (misspelled, of course).

I've done this kind of thing many times. Velcro is an option.

I made my own rack for my Carvin head to sit on my fEARful 15/6 cab. The cab itself had casters on the bottom and a handle on the back at top. I used metal latches to lock the head (in rack) to the cab.

This (rather large) combo was also it's own cart/dolly. which could be rolled vertically or tilted back.

Hey all,

I've been thinking about mounting my EA Doubler ii head onto a small cab (TBD) to make a combo of sorts. I know it's not that much work to hook them up separately at a gig but it's one less thing I'd have to do. Plus it's kind of a "hold my beer" thing for me.

Something maybe in the style of the Genz Benz Shuttle combos, where there's a bracket holding the head down. EA has been defunct for some time now, and I don't think they ever offered mounting hardware for this head anyway.

I know I can probably rig something with generic metal brackets but I wondered if anyone had done something similar, and if you had any resources to share.

Here's one a couple of TB'er friends made that eventually made its way to me:

Quite a few other heads can fit in that space, I am currently using a Traynor SB-200. The one caveat is that a top venting fan would be a deal breaker, and if the amp has bottom vents you would need to accommodate that. The tilt back piece mounts on the back of the cab and you can store cables in that space. Someone else has the bottom cab but for my purposes the single 10 is more than enough. It's half inch Baltic birch, and 26 lbs. including the Traynor head. I like this approach much much more than docking a head on top, and I can easily remove the head in less than 30 seconds with no tools needed.

I was an EA user for several years, it was great stuff in its time but this solution works better for me for both BG and EUB, for whatever that's worth.
