For my fretless build I am now looking at building a floating bridge like CT uses on a majority of his basses... what would be the best way to mount the strings through the body? or fabricate a method of holding the strings in place (a tailpiece of sorts)... Anyone have any ideas of how to make this fly?

HAHA ! you guys are funny. Yeah I used Ebony dowels, I did a few extra ones that I sanded on different angles for better intonation. The tailpiece and bridge were made EXACTLY the same way as the bobbins on that same thread. I mean EXACTLY the same way ! It took me about 7 minutes to redo the bridge (it used to be Wenge but the spacings turned out to be a bit off when I started intonating it... you know the more I put it on an angle, the tighter the spacings)
oh yeah, sorry I might sound like a bitch sometimes, but if you have more questions (that you cant find the answers to in the thread) let me know, Ill take a few minutes to answer them the best I can
No worries, I really appriciate the help and if I use your design in any way possible I will credit you if anyone asks, I will never "steal" anyones ideas and call them my own. I have been messing around with drawing a similar tailpiece but with brass or metal tubing in it to hold each string in place without the worry of the string eventually wearing into the wood as time goes on, I think it could potentially increase the life span of the tailpiece by alot...
Question for everyone reading this... I notice CT doesn't even use adjustable pieces but instead one similar to a set height archtop tailpiece... I realize that there will not be single string intonation; however it is an unlined fretless so wouldn't I just have to adjust my fingers 1/4 of an inch at times to get intune? I mean a fretted guitar isn't always perfect either... Could/would this work? Like a wishbass or a CT if you will [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

The member you're quoting hasn't been active in 8 years. I hope you're able to get in contact with them, but if not, lots of others have made floating wood bridges since then and I'm sure other people would be willing to answer questions you may have!
This is a floating bridge design. I like the no-parts solid anchoring of the ball ends in recessed pockets in the end of the body. When I designed this bass I went for ultimate simplicity for string mounting and bridge, using as few parts as possible.
