Making microphone level line level.

hi,
I have a Presonus Firface interface, which has only 2 mic inputs and also 2 line inputs.
I would need more mic inputs instead of the line inputs. Can I somehow make the line inputs work for microphones?

Would this work?
Microphone into a preamp like this one:

from the output to the line input of the Presonus.

Or if you know a better solution, please let me know

put a mixer or mic preamp between the microphone and the line input ...

This is exactly why mic preamps were invented. You need a mic preamp, one per channel. It's that simple.
