'Making my mark' on my bass

Hi to all
While drooling over the awesome basses you guys have, I made up my mind to customise my Squier P-Bass, it being still standard.

First step on my mind was a black pickguard.. And I saw a white bass with red and black splats near the bridge which was just gorgeous...maybe something similar? What are your opinions? And more ideas would be GREATLY appreciated

Do something that represents your personality or something that has meaning to you. For example, I'm a mean miserable hateful bastard, so I made mine all black, except for the fret lines, those are white.... I guess there's a tiny bit of good soul in me somewhere

Yeah definitely along the lines of black, some friend also mentioned a skull sticker but I think it's too...teenage.

here's what I'd do:

Black PG
all hardware replaced with black including knobs
DR Black Beauty strings

Then if you're adventurous, paint the fretboard black and refinish it.

You will have the most officially Metal bass ever.

I have to agree That's one good looking bass!

Got black knobs all set, would they still look good on a black body, black pickguard? Handy bass for some late-night sneaking around..

Ignore my crappy houseboat tan... but here is my frankenstein bass. I sport the black-on-black with DR Black Beauties. Had a little bridge problem, so the bottom was in the midst of being reworked. But thats another story. Go for the all-black!

Had it been really white, yeah. When I bought the bass last summer for Lm35 (around $125), its previous owner had played it for 8 years.. the pickguard's all 'creamed' up, sort of old english white.. so a paint/sprayjob is in order

I added another little mark to mine. I added a small light behind the pickguard, cut out a customized bass clef, and added a red button the the row of knobs.

Now when I press the red button, this happens:

How hard is it to create an F-hole SYMBOL (not hole) on the pickguard? I was thinking of placing a cheap sticker with its shape on the pg, applying the black spray, then just removing the sticker...

It's as hard as that...

yeah, and if you wanted, just use blue painter's tape (low tack) and a razor to shape it. Then paint, and the removal would be a cinch.

Just roughly photshopped my impression, apart from the strings and knobs which will be added later.. I like

Hi.

A black headstock might be rather cool.

Nothing screams a sudden and unexpected mark or mojo to Your bass better than the lack of strap-locks. Seriously.

Haven't really decided.. the thing is that the 'Squier by Fender, Affinity Series' etc logo would get covered, although that could be replaced using a white sticker..
