Hmm. Not sure really. Seeing the excitement on my son's face has really changed my perspective of Xmas. Although for me personally, the Christmas after my 13th birthday seems to stand out for me. This was the Xmas/bday (my birthday fall three days before) where I got a new surfboard AND a new wetsuit. That was really my first winter that I was able to surf through, and I realized that winter is a whole new ballgame in California. My two cents :)

You sir, obviously have not been living long enough to answer, with any kind of authority, questions pertaining to man law. Additionally, if you did a quick search, you'd find the man law threads, that would provide you with all the answers you're looking for. You cannot hop into my two cent thread, and wing man law. These were a collection of posts with the aggregated wisdom of many tb'rs before you. This is like me elbowing Chuck Yeager aside and showing him how to really fly an experimental rocket plane past the sound barrier. If you don't get that reference, then let me invite you to post your own opinion in your own two cent thread. My two cents :).

These are two entirely different animals. Snowboarding's resemblance to surfing pretty much stops at the point at the fact that they look similar in the way the rider us positioned on the board. Unless were talking about powder. Then were getting a lot closer to the sensations of surfing due to the greater emphasis you place on the back foot. I love both surfing and snowboarding, but my heart lies with surfing. Eventhough the rides are considerably shorter, there is a randomness to surfing that creates a sense of critical timing. You can only respond to what the wave gives you. If you were to take snowboarding and somehow correlate it to riding an avalanche, then we'd be a lot closer by comparison. Surfing is much cheaper than Snowboarding too. There are no lift tickets to ride the waves. My two cents. :)

Invest in a bike with a good frame that will last and then you can buy/add/swap components as you see fit. You can find all kinds of good deals on ebay/craigslist. A buddy mine rides for Felt. Those are some nice bikes, IMO. My two cents. :)
