Male Vocalists You Can't Stand

Adam Levine
The guy from Jamiroquoi (sp?)
Steve Perry
Robert Plant (sometimes)
Rob Thomas
Axl
Any cookie-monster-type metal vocalist
Brian Johnson's voice reminds me of an engine part trying to move after years of rusting

Leonard Cohen
[DEL]William Shatner
[/DEL]Kris Kristofferson
Ringo Starr
Peter Townsend
Peter Noonan
Axl Rose
Bono
Sonny Bono
Kenny Chesney
Ginger Baker
and...the guy from the B52's

William Shatner does not sing. Period. Full Stop. He is not eligible to be included in this thread.

5. AC-DC's throat infection.

4. Lionel Richie – okay in the Commodores, but super suckage as a solo fartist.

3. Axehole Rose

2. Any of the many metal genres' "vokillist" that sounds like an entire geriatric ward clearing the phlegm from their throats first thing in the morning. Some great music in the genre, wish I could listen to it without the so-called singer gargling the mic.

...and the number one annoyance is...

1. Janis Joplin. Oh, wait, this thread's about male warblers. Yeah, so. Prove Joplin wasn't one. Still tops my "Can't Stand" list.

Wow, lots of hatin' on Geddy Lee and Robert Plant - two of my favorites (OK, so outside of Rush, Geddy's vocals wouldn't be anything, but within the band his voice is simply part of the sound that I love so much)

I can't believe no one mentioned Scott Weiland!
Any of the "I've got marbles in my mouth" singers from the 90s, any Screamo/Death metal type stuff that sounds like the Cookie Monster. And Axl...

Just a few off the top of my head

Anthony Keidis
John Mayer
Bob Dylan
Willie Nelson
Michael Stipe
Kurt Cobain
Kid Rock
Bruce Springsteen

And a parade of "talk singers" who can't carry a tune

Hank Williams, Jr.
Jason Aldean
Toby Keith
Trace Adkins

Man, I thought my next two would be givens lol

I can't STAND the guy from Dream Theater or the one from Dragonforce either. I almost want to go ask them if they would consider ditching them and just going instrumental (I know DT did Liquid Tension Experiment, guess that counts? lol)

So many Axl Rose haters... including me. Add that to the most notorious five-note guitarist in the business, and it makes me wonder how G&R ever made it.
The power of drugs I guess.

Anyway,

-Axl
-Bob Dylan
-Anyone that starts the word "yeah" with "Nnmmm" in an imposed gritty voice between each line of a song.
-Snow Patrol's singer
-Sorry metal guys, but I can't stand most metal vocalists.

We all forgot Jack Black, but I think he is awesome for being so outrageous, knowing he is outrageous, and continuing to be outrageous all the while not caring that he is outrageous.

Jack Black killed the metal.
