Male Vocalists You Can't Stand

Yeah, Axl does suck and I really wish it were me that he went after in that camera incident years ago at that concert in KC.

I know this doesn't count for the thread, but worse than Axl... Fergie singing Axl at the Superbowl halftime in 2011. Shoving a pencil in my eye would've been more fun than listening to that. Worst Superbowl halftime I've ever seen. Rampant autotune and Fergie, who ruined the Black Eyed Peas.

For those that missed it, consider yourself lucky. If you feel the need to torture your eardrums, click the link and fastforward to 3:55.

THAT was brutal.

First, I HATE that song. One reason I'll never be in a "Party Rock" pop band that all the gig-whores in town are in just to make money, sell booze and claim that their band is the "ultimate party-band" in town. Nothing about music because it's not about music.
Second, I HATE Guns & Roses.
Third, Fergie sucks.
Fourth, did I mention how much I dislike "party rock"?

On the other hand, here's my list of all the people who have been mentioned in this thread whose singing I actually love (in some cases because his voice is not-so-great):

Tom Waits
Bob Dylan
Neil Young
Robert Plant
Geddy Lee
Kurt Cobain
Perry Ferrell
Michael McDonald
Leonard Cohen
Lou Reed
Michael Stipe

Well, it's not like you could ever mistake them for anyone else so they definitely have that going for them. Of course that's a double-edged sword, as their uniqueness tends to result in people either loving or hating them with little in between. :D

I like most of these vocalists as well. In fact I'd consider Tom Waits to be one of my favourite vocalists of all time.

1. Any of the grunting death-metal stuff...
2. Bono
3. Glen Danzig
4. The guy from The Cult
5. James "JY" Young from Styx - Please leave the sining to Tommy Shaw or whoever they have, doing a miserable job, pretending to be Dennis DeYoung.

While I don't mind Brian Johnson's voice - it does make me cringe a little...like watching someone get kicked in the stones. Doesn't hurt you directly, you just get that feeling like it's gotta hurt BAD! :D

I know what you're saying. But the guy's done it for over 30 years and as far as I know he's never had any voice problems, nodes, etc. So it's not like he's out there doing damage to himself like 98% of us punters would be doing if we tried to do even 3 songs in that style. It's a gift, plain and simple, and he's made the most of it.
