Man, any idea on how he got this tone?

). I figure loose strings and down-tuning has to be part of it. I would just talk to him and ask him myself but I can't find his name, or a myspace/ facebook page. Thanks guys.

It sounds like a DS-1 type clipping with some pre-eq (treble cut) and some post eq (bass boost). There is probably a blend with a little bit of clean signal.

...or a blend of overdrive+distortion+clean? Not sure.

In this video if you pause it at or around 41 seconds, you can see the light flash on a head which definitely looks like a GK head. He must have a dirt pedal running through it if that's not the 2001rb. It's definitely an "rb" amp, just not the 800. What do you guys think?

You'll get used to it. If you like the music but not the vocals go and listen to "Black Sheep Wall". It's the same band with a different singer.

Thanks for the suggestion, but that singer sounds like a baby crying hysterically, but with the voice of a fully grown man. It's not better. At all. Just not my cuppa tea, I guess.

Though, again, the music is teh hotness.

I think on the verse of the clip I can hear BassBalls. They have switch for distortion plus it gets heavily distorted with guitar dist possibly. It has that upper mid peak that goes down (in freq) when a string is played... I think I hear that in the verse of the song.
However you can mostly get that sound with BassBalls and ODB-3 or a guitar dist.
Just my opinion.
Heavy music to listen to. :)

I found something useful guys! http://www.last.fm/music/Black+Sheep+Wall/+images/29946527

Can anyone tell me what kind of bass that is? I know it's a Schecter, but I haven't seen one in that color. Basically he is running a RAT into a SansAmp BDDI (or ParaDriver?) and then an amp head which might be the GK (either a 700rb-II or a 1001rb-II, I assume) into what appears to be a 6x10 cab. I think I'm right, tell me if I'm not by all means.
