Manicure

Man Law said:
46. Men do not get a mani/pedi. REAL men do not even know what a mani/pedi is.
46a. Real men actually know what mani/pedi is, man has all knowledge. However, real men will not admit they have said knowledge.
177. "Anything a man does in the pursuit of getting laid is acceptable provided that he does, in fact, get laid. "
177a. But if the Man in question fails to achieve his conquest, everything he did can be used to bust his chops for a period of no more than six and no less than three months."
Are you feeling lucky?;)

Why do women make their men get manicures? Maybe its 'cause the men in my childhood were all mechanics or construction workers or carpenters or cowboys, but...

I prefer a man with calloused hands.

Must be my blue-collar upbringing. I would never, in a hundred years, ask my husband to get a manicure! He *needs* his callouses for work. And strong, calloused hands are *sexy*!

Why get a manicure, man? Unless its to prevent some kind of infection, I don't understand why a man would get a manicure.

Added another post to say that I've never had a manicure. My girlfriends try to get me to go the danged nail salon, but I refuse. It *stinks* in there, and they always try to sell me nails. I play bass...I don't wear silly, long nails that are just a handicap you give yourself on purpose.

I did let the girls drag me in to enquire about a manicure. When the lady in the nail shop explained that they'd be smoothing my callouses down, I nearly knocked people over getting the heck out of that horrible place. I worked hard to get those, and I need them for playing.

Awful!!!

It's worse, much much worse... But I won't say...

mmmm White Russians.

I am same way though, I like my hands looking like crap... 4 years working at mechanic shop, then working with computer hardware. It's weird, I never thought about computer tech as a hands business but just like mechanic shop i would find myself bleeding on my cloths and trying to figure out where i am bleeding from at least 1s a day. :)

I did it several times when I was studying classical guitar. Nothing gets the sound of natural nails, and I threw myself into it fully, so I went every two weeks for a semester.

:hiding:

And going back to Man Law #177, it seems that classical guitar can and will indeed get you laid.

Well, if it improves your music and no one made you do it, then you get to keep your Man Card. We must all make sacrifices in the service of The Music!

They do what now?

See, this is what i don't understand... They cut your fingernails.. but i bite mine off... what are they going to do?

They're going to file your nails smooth, and buff the ridges off their surfaces. They're going to push back your cuticles, which is so easy I can't believe people pay to have it done. They will want to smooth your callouses, too. Then they'll moisturize.

Your hands will be soft and smooth. You'll have hands like Clay Aiken.
