Mantic Beef Bag

Great to hear! I knew they'd nail it. They seem to really know their circuit-business over at Mantic. And let's be honest, for the current prices (and unreliability) of the original DOD MEATBOXes, the Bag or Hulk seems like a better option to me.

Anyone have any experience with the mini hulk? It only has a dry MIX knob, a 35hz knob, and a 60hz knob. Seems like it would be a super versatile idea when playing clean (or stacked with other pedals) to add sub-craziness without coloring the tone. Much different idea than a meatbox, but interesting possibilities!

LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT!!!

Earthquaker is coming out with a sub!?
DOD is reissuing the meatbox?!

My heart sings.
My credit card weeps.
My FOH trembles.

I know this thread is old, but:

Can anyone explain the difference between the Density Hulk and the Beef Bag?
What's that mini-Hulk? Couldn't find any info online

And which is the Earthquaker sub pedal?

They both have subharmonic frequencies, but have different tonal characteristics. the Beef Bag is meant to be a clone of the DOD Meatbox, and the Densty Hulk is meant to be Mantic's own, original, improved version a Meatbox

The mini Hulk is looking like it's a special order only now, all it did was replicate 35hz and 60hz frequencies without any other tone color. I'd love to get one.

Earthquaker hasn't released any info about a sub at all, I've only heard Juan very quickly and quietly mention a rumor about it in one of his videos. But u better believe if EQD comes out with one I'm interested!

thanks!

do you remember what kind of enclosure the mini Hulk comes in?

I just stumbled across this. I hope some more chat comes up about these pedals. I had no idea something like this even existed. I went to Mantic's site and saw there's a Beef Bag, an Intensity Hulk, and an Intensity Hulk Pro. I'm still learning about Hz. To not ask a stupid question...is this a pedal that most bassists would run through the P.A. rather than their amp? If so how do you have it set up...with a Y splitter with only the beef bag going to the P.A.? I have a Hartke 3500 amplifier. How do I find an amplifier that handles lower frequencies if mine isn't capable? I'm interested in this pedal to use live. It sound promising for "doomy" parts in songs. I'm curious and eager to learn!

I have a Iron Ether subT/XeroD combo and the Source Audio Manta so when i get the Hulk, I'll compare them.

I wanted to Hulk to do some reggae/dub/dancehall type stuff in my ska band, I see it as a LPF with Boost. The subT/XeroD is being used with a Moog EP-2 for manually sweeping the filter, I also will sparingly use the SA Manta/HH3 for some weird wobble effects.

It's likely that there is redundancy between at least 2 of the peadals. I have had thoughts of somehow rigging the Hulk with a momentary switch for "bass drops" but i'm not sure if I go that route.

I ordered like 10 days ago. Haven't received any information besides the order confirmation yet. The webpage said "backorder: -2" to that time.

My setup is similar to yours Loki (BEF and XD). I guess the Hulk will replace the BEF (just used it as sub bass pedal in a parallel loop) cause of the smaller footprint.

Merry Christmas all! :D
