I've had my density hulk pro since the 4th of July ish. I had it dimed and fried my Ampeg BA 115 a bit. It still works, just has a bit of a fuzzy tone going on now lol. I'm planning on getting a new cab/amp set up that moves enough air to really feel this effect but that won't break my back(and will fit in my Honda Accord lol)

Maybe a 4x10 orange and orange tb500?

If you want it to translate at a house show, I would try to get a used ampeg 8x10 ($500ish) or even a 4x12 or 2 x15. Basically, you need to push a good amount of air to get the affect of these at a non PA show. But I do it, with great results all the timE. The good news is, the wet/dry knob is super useful if you don't want to break your 4x10 or 1x15. I know juan and Hischke say they go all knobs pinned. But I get much better results when I pin them all but come off the mix knob a bit. Maybe 65/35 wet/dry.

I either dime all but the level knob or half level and sub on my density hulk with my 115 these days.

i got the last Density Hulk that was in stock earlier this month. i play through mesa 6x10 cabs - both the vintage powerhouse and the traditional. imo, if i max out the hulk the speakers will start to give out (you can hear the change in sound it starts to sound distorted). i dont recommend turning every knob up. the 60hz knob is too wolfy anyway - i back off that one. experiment, but be very careful! the sub bass should sound relatively pure, imo. ive only had it for a couple weeks, but eventually i think it will be best to go wet out to the PA and not to the amp - so perhaps two DI's for the bass.

has anyone tried recording with the Hulk and/or the Meatbox? as soon as im back home im looking fwd to recording using the wet and dry out and bringing the sub in and out for effect.

My density hulk arrived like 2 weeks ago and I'm quite happy with it. The most effective range is from C (3rd fret A String) to F (20th fret A String). Over and under this notes the output is fairly weak or too low to articulate properly.
But in that C-F range its just a killer (i have all knobs fully up besides volume level). You need to watch out for your gear or else it will take some serious damage (cone overexcursion). Normal bass cabinets are not designed for that amount of low end at higher volume levels (at least mine - 2x15). Perfect would be the wet out to a dedicated PA Sub.

Tracking is fine, no issues with that.

One thing I was surprised of is how much dirt it has. However applying a LPF/EQ Cut at ~120Hz will result in nice, smooth sub bass sound.
