Maple Bass Neck - Precision Neck

Anybody know where I can get a cheap precision neck for my 4 string precision bass. I would like a maple neck with a maple fretboard. I'm not looking to buy from here (I dont have a supporting membership yet.) I wanna fix up my old P-bass. I don't wanna spend that much on the neck though...

I put a Mighty Mite maple P neck on my white Jazz...sweet neck! Look on the evilBay for one- I see them go all the time for under $85. They need a lttle fretwork, as they all do, but mine is straight and true, and it plays like a dream!

They have a pic of a rosewood and maple boarded neck, but you can only select a rosewood when you click on "Please choose fingerboard" on their site.

I think I remember reading here that SX necks don't fit on Fender bodies.

I've read about some people upgrading their SX necks with other aftermarket necks so I'd assume they would have the same heel size, but have no direct experience.

Ok, another question though... My old P-bass, the neck had 20 frets, but some of the necks I'm looking at have 21 frets. If I buy the 21 fret neck and put it on my P-bass, will it affect anything? Like the intonation, or scale length or anything? Or will everything be fine?

You can get necks were the fretboard simply extends over the end of the neck. So you will get that extra fret on the pickgaurd if it makes sense, if not look here 2nd pic down
