I played tuba in marching band, so you got me beat on the coolness factor. Played tuba for 9 years, Middle school, High School and college. Didn't start bass till my Soph. year college. Figured there were more gig opportunities on bass![]()
+1, but technically it's Sousaphone.Nothing... NOTHING... is cooler than marching tuba.
Extra long cable?
How do you march with a (make sure we're talking about the same thing) bass guitar..? Now back in the late sixties/seventies when I was in HS..I had a battery pack that powered my B-15N that I'd play in the stands for the "Pep Band," but never tried to march with the thing..

The band I saw had a large battery powered amp on casters. One guy was a full time "amp pusher". He and the bass player would both march on the field in formation...not stationary in the pit.
It may have been Arvin High School near Bakersfield, CA.
