Marcus a Miller Demos his Sire

I wish this bass had been around back when I was looking for this tone and features on a tight budget.

Props to MarkBass. I wonder if Marcus is embarrassed or even gives a damn about what other musicians think of the color? (I'm guessing not...proud MB player here).

Marcus sure gets around that pickup cover pretty handily.

Personally, I think the YELLOW is obnoxious, but you always know it's
a MarkBass. The color would not impact whether or not I would purchase
one. It's all about the TONE and reliability!

Yeah, I think Trace Elliot Green and Orange are ugly and obnoxious too. Who cares?

The MarkBass amps and cabs that I've played at the GC always
seemed to have a tone of bottom and were less hi-fi than other brands!
I wonder if Marcus changed for those reasons.

I'm familiar with the bass and I'm familiar with him but I just watched the whole video and damn he sells that bass. I honestly didn't really want to one till just now.

I knew we'd get you sooner or later, just needed the right salesman! And yeah, appreciate the fingerstyle especially in the midrange explanation.

Have you guys looked at the way Marcus has the EQ set on this amp? Kind if screwy. VFF at noon VLE at 11:00 Bass and treble cut back.I have a LM II and I tried it on mine. It sounds OK like that, but he could have just set the amp flat. He seems to be boosting or cutting frequencys with one control and then he's undoing that with another control. Strange...
I was sort of expecting that a Marcus Miller amp would sound "right" without too much tweaking.

I just cannot stand when they put an artist's name on the headstock. Kind of makes me feel like a poser playing a bass that has an endorsee's name plastered on it.

I'd buy one if it just had the Sire "S" logo and nothing else on the headstock. Yes, I'm that superficial.

You could always sand the headstock and put another coat of clear over it. Simple

Granted, you make yourself a target for taunts if you have Marcus Miller written on the headstock and you can't play.
But you're not doing it to a Fodera. If the logo bugs you but you really like the bass only one thing you can do.
I don't think there is too much of a chance that Sire is going to change the logo and get rid of the Marcus Miller name on all of their basses to get Vinnie to buy one for 500 to 700.-

Put tape over his name.

I loved this video. Marcus has been a favorite of mine for years! Such a down to earth guy!
