I have been working on getting the hang of a walking bass. It is a year long project for me and my teacher has started me off on Bebop standards like tenor madness and Billies Bounce. Working on that music has really given me a fresh perspective on how Marcus Miller is playing Funk, but so much of how the music is structured is rooted in Jazz. It really helps me to see why Miles Davis recognized him as such an exceptional musician.
