Marcus Miller v5 arrived today!

This is a quality bass for the price and then some. It has features that would cost significantly more on a Fender such as the bone nut, rolled fingerboard and roasted maple neck. This bass played just fine right out of the box and it just looks so cool. It's sounds wonderful!

If that has Seventies pickup spacing, it might really be a monster for the money. I love Seventies spacing on a Jazz!:bassist:
I’m actually considering picking one of these up . Yes it has 70’s spacing and alder body. When they were initially announced they were wrongly advertised as being maple bodies and 60’s spacing.
This week I found out different. I’m really considering ordering one tomorrow . I like the way these sound. True single coils , blocks & binding, alder, maple, passive and roasted maple.
This could kick my Elite V out of the fold and put some $ back in my account.

Alder and Seventies spacing sounds like a Geddy Lee on a budget. That is certainly worth a try for $600.:bassist:

I will put this in my NBD thread but I just got done setting mine up.....gave the truss rod a quarter turn to straighten her up just a hair. Dropped the action by a half turn on all saddles. I really liked the tone where the p/u's were before I made the changes so I lowered them accordingly. Did some intonation adjustments (all strings were a pinch flat at 12th fret), got the bass tuned back up and man does it play like butter! It can get bright if you need it to but I feel it has a very hefty tone to it.....I credit the alder body and roasted maple neck for that. This one is going to be a joy to play out on the upcoming gigs!

After getting mine set up and playing it these past few days I gotta say I'm very impressed! The gen 2 features are a massive upgrade IMO. The action feels pretty darn low (for me anyway) and I can really dig in without getting buzz etc. I had one of the first v7 5 strings that came out back in the day....this v5 is far superior. I love the new neck radius, I like not having any finish on the back of the neck, tuners are better and it just has an authoritative tone! Gonna try and find an online track here pretty soon and get something up on youtube.
