There are many 'substances' you can mess up on if it takes you, I consider MJ as one of the fairer, ymmv ; )
I wish more people understood this.
Yeah well, we make allowances Kwesi![]()

I think as far as playing music goes, weed's like gear; if you're good, it doesn't matter. If you aren't good, it doesn't matter.
It is a great way to make yourself stupider. It ruins your creativity. And for someone like me who gets urine tested at work it would destroy a good career.
Drugs and alcohol do not increase creativity. Substance abuse is a dead end. It shortens your life and destroys your health.
The music only seems better because your judgement is compromised. In reality is gets sloppier.
Actually, Harved has done a study that proves marijuana does NOT effect you as much as nicotine or caffeine. You just are used to it like soda or cigarettes
If you guys can't play or preform or jam without the help of substance abuse then you have an addiction. You need help. If you think you play better then you are fooling yourself. And remember just because you believe something doesn't make it true.
There is a reason many jobs require drug testing. Drug users judgement gets compromised.
Marijuana isn't a drug
This was brought up in the Mandatory Drug Thread.
Drug tests only purpose is surveillance and it wrongfully singles out Marijuana users. Hard drugs are out of your system a day to a few days after you use,...Marijuana stays in you system up to 30 days after use. What this does is say it's okay to kill yourself with junk and poison but don't smoke a plant that's been cultivated for 1000's of years.
A casual meth or heroin user has a better chance of passing a U/A than a marijuana user. Of course it doesn't matter because eventually a meth or heroin user will likely become a real addict and will lose everything possibly his or her own life,...can you say the same is true of a marijuana user,...or at least one that hasn't had his/her life ruined as a result of the outrageous and wrongful criminalization of marijuana?
What this does is say it's okay to kill yourself with junk, poison and batteryacid but don't ingest a plant that's been cultivated for 1000's of years.
Marijuana is not addictive in the sense that you do not experience the same withdrawl symptoms as say Heroin.
I would consider myself a Medium user. I don't have to smoke,...but I sure do enjoy it (actually sober as of this posting). I don't think it enhances the jam but I don't think it detracts either.

Nope,...still not a drug,...but I have a feeling we are going to have to agree to disagree on this one.
It may, in your opinion, not be a drug, but the fact is that it is, by definition.
Separate the two, and you'll be able to build more convincing arguments.
The problem with cannabis is that all too often, you read some story about some violent criminal who was smoking it before committing some crime. (Which, does not make any sense as the effect is either that you are too mellow to leave the sofa and rob or kill some one, or too paranoid that you might get caught!)
I've heard this said a lot, but I've never actually seen an instance of it. Do you have any examples?
