Mark Bass cabs for LM2 advice please

Last friday night, I had a gig with my LMK11 104HF / 102HF rig for approx. the 50th time in the past two years..... In between sets, a bass player from another Band who was present told me he had just purchased a LMK11 rig after he heard my Tone at the same Bar. I never had as many positive comments about my Tone since I am with MarkBass, final !!!! And, I use the Cabs as well and I love them !
I've got the Mark Bass CMD 102P (which for the uninitiated is the Little Mark Head with a 2X10 cab). I haven't spent too much time paying attention to what it sounds like in a Guitar Store but it sure sounds fantastic with my band. Great amp. I love Mark Bass.
I run a CMD 102P with a 104 HF (similar rig to Turlu's). Man bass players love the sound of this amp, but my band members are even more stoked! I've never been so confident in my tone or had as many positive comments on it from fellow bassists, other musicians, soundmen, and audience members as I've had with Markbass.
And yes, the 104 HF does rock indeed.

Im currently playing on a Markbass CL 108 8x10 cab through a Little Mark II head. This setup sounds freakin awesome....I play gigs at small bars to large outside venues and this stack will rattle the doors off the hinges while sounding great. Even with the head not even pushing half of the 1200 watt cab's peak output at 500 watts RMS, this stack brings the thunder wherever I go....and it only weighs 90 lbs! I haven't been much of a Markbass fan until recently, and was playing on an Ampeg before this amp, but this beast of a setup has made a fan out of me.

I play my F1 through an 810 as well. Incredible tone! Like Turlu and Tx Mad Scientist, I receive constant praise from other bassists on my sound. I am a Mark Bass fan, and am very proud of my rig!
I especially love the look I get when I pull my F1 out of the laptop portion of my back pack... "That is 500 watts?"

I have a 2x10 Markbass with my LMII and it just doesn't cut through a mix where a 1x15 Fender Rumble 100w does cut. I suggest you don't go for MB cabs. ._.
I have the same 2x10 and find that it always cuts through the mix ! There are of course limitations to the 102P due to the fact that is tiny.
Together with my double ported version of the 102HF it provides an extremely well balanced full range 4ohm rig that cuts through better than my old Eden 410xlt ever did.

LMII is a modern classic, without challenge for power, quality and price-to-value. No brainer. Cabinets are more subjective, and subect to preference. I like the modern, smooth sound of a LM head tied to any LM cabinet. Like other reviewers, I believe an LM head/cab combination comes alive in a live setting, with a projected, modern sound that is something like a cross between GK's modern voicing but with a touch of Bergantino's roundness. Really, no one could go wrong unless looking for a more trad Ampeg sound. I like LMII with Aguilar, Bergantino and LM cabs. Aguilar cabs are a little subdued, and I find the LM a good match, but if I were in the market today, I would pair LM with Bergies ... just because. Tomorrow, I might do something different.

I have "painted" a depiction, using my limited graphic tools and skillz to demonstrate what I chose as the right cab (for a number of reasons) for my "modern classic" amp head!
I hope they finish it soon- Then I can rant here about how badasss it is- Oh, and I WILL!

I've run a 102HF together with a 151P and gotten a pretty incredible sound with my LMKII. I only *own* the 102HF and for most gigs it's more than enough to be honest. Adding the 15" just gives a little more breadth to the lows, and a nice contour to the midrange. Just in case you were wondering about orientation - I had them both on the floor, side by side when I used them together.
A sidenote - I saw a friend of mine play a show a little while ago where he used only the 102 HF without any FOH support, and it wasn't until after the show that I realized the bass *wasn't* in the front. Now, it was a blues rock gig in a smaller venue, but man do those cabs project well.

hey my gig with the 104HF went great but I am doing one where there is no PA support this coming friday night so will post a full review then (with pics of me being a hero no doubt).
OK first gig with my new Mark Bass rig with no PA support for Bass.
We played a little club called Idgaff here in Melbourne australia and it went great. The Little Mark 2 and 104HF sounded truly amazing.
I know this because the bass player of the band that played before us used it too. He kind of walked up and informed me that he was supposed to be using my bass rig apparently so could I load it in for him?
It was the first I had heard of this arrangement. I was a bit miffed at first.
It was cool though and he turned out to be a nice guy and didn't abuse it. He seemed fairly impressed and said he liked the way it sounded.
Plus I got to hear just how fantastic my new set up sounds from an audience perspective. It sounded so so good.
When I got onstage I was immediatley asked to turn it down a bit and had to 1/4 volume (9 o'clock) with the gain at noon (a bit before clipping happens on my set up). I boosted the low a tiny bit and ran about 1/4 of that VPF filter then played with my bass a bit til I was happy with the sound out front.
It sounded so good to me.
Afterward I was yacking to some chaps that are in the music biz that are kind of checking us out and they said my bass sound is a big improvement over the previous bass players sound which made me feel pretty damned happy.
I don't even really feel like I need a sansamp now but have a VT on order so will give it a go.
I didn't get a pic of me onstage with it yet but here is one we just got back from a promo shoot from last week...(we don't normally jump, we were kind of taking the piss...)

Anyway...thanks again talkbassers (esp Jimmy) for the sound advice and thanks Mark Bass for saving my back and wallet and giving me a rig to be proud of.
