Mark Bass Combo Head II Lost Power. PLEASE HELP!

Hello,

I am past my warranty on my Markbass combo 1x12. Iv'e had it for about 3 years and it has been the best amp I have ever owned. But recently I just suddenly lost power on the head and it will not turn back on. I checked everything I'm aware of. The Fuse, power cable, and switch are all working good. I cannot find anyone in my area who will fix Markbass stuff. Please help me.

I live in north New Jersey.

Hit the button on MarkBass's web site. VST is the only people in the US with service info. They have several shops across the US, no one else gets schematics or service info (even owner's requests).
Mark Bass Repair Service Center, Mark Acoustic Repair Service Center. You will most likely be having the main board replaced.

Have you tried a different speaker cable and cabinet?

Better yet, just turn it on without any speaker cable or cabinet. It will be fine doing that. If it turns on you know the problem is in the cable or cabinet. If it fails to turn on, then it's time for service.

And you really need to give some thought as to what might have caused the failure so it doesn't happen again.

This might sound silly, but try another outlet on a different circuit. You might have tripped a circuit and not know it, or have a plug that went bad. Happened to me in my kitchen - I thought my blender broke but turned out my wall outlet quit working. A $8 trip to Home Depot fixed that.

Also, triple verify the fuse is solid. Sometimes the break can be tough to see. Or swap in another fuse for $1 and see if that does it.

Hi, mine too. The amp turn on and the preamp seems to work. The power amp has no output. I’m done with MarkBass. Why should I pay $400 for a new motherboard. The money is going toe Angular for a new head.

Erroneous info. An amp can "power up" and still deliver no sound. And there's no indication that the user did anything wrong.
The amp is 11 years old and that is around where many have experienced power board failures through no fault of anyone but the mfg.

Does the pilot light come on or is it just dead?
