Here's to Samuel Clemens, one of the first great American writers, on the centenary of his death.

This is the Mark Twain House in Hartford:
    29554891.

So, if you paint my fence for me, I'll let you play my bass. ;)

Why would I want to play your bass when painting this fence is WAAY more fun? Why, it's so much fun I don't ever want to stop. There is no way you're going to take my brush away from me...

Yup. They popped the whole 14,000 sq. ft. brick mansion onto the back of a Chevy pickup and moved it down the street. That's how we roll in CT.

I remember reading A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court when I was 17 and chuckling at the point where Hank Morgan is led by the knight who captured him, and he first sees Camelot up ahead. Puzzled, he asks his captor, "Bridgeport?" I hadn't ever been to Bridgeport, but I recognized the comic absurdity that Twain tossed at the reader.

    "Hello Central!"
