Markbass 104hf

Haven't heard the 104HF but one nice lightweight 410 cab that's hit our shores recently and I got to have a listen to last week was the EA NM-410. Was a/b'ed with an Epifani UL410 and the main difference that stood out to me was the EA cab seemed to have a fuller more balanced overall sound and is very loud. The bottom end seemed much more deeper and wider than the Epi and the mid range was more balanced and fuller. The Epi high mids definitely jump out at you more so than the EA cab. The highs were pretty comparable, both "sizzled". The thing that I really loved about this cab is it's weight - so light and had a nice attchment handle and built in casters so you could tilt itback and wheel it around. Very nice.
I'm really gasing for one of these cabs now as I already have 2 NL210s and I am thinking of selling one and getting a 410 to have a modular and portable 610 configuration. I am really happy with the EA cabs so far.

I've got a 104HF and I love it. Loud, present, and damn light. I've played in several of situations (and rooms) and it's performed great. I use it with a Little Mark II head and I've been thinking about running more power recently (those cones move a little too much with the LMKII). It's punchy as hell, though. Couple of caveats: I slap quite a bit and this tweeter is a bit "light on the sizzle" as BP magazine put it. I find that I need to really crank the tweeter attenuator (conveniently located on the side) to get that high-end pop that I need. Also, the cabinet is voiced on the low-mid side. Great for presence, particularly fingerstyle stuff, but might not be everyone's cup of tea. It's really a fantastic cab, though. Another bass player saw me ONE HANDING it the other day. I'm enjoying it.
p.s. BONUS--I just found out how to get that gaudy logo off of the grille. Cabinet looks almost "normal" now!

I love the MB heads.
I do not like there cabs.
The 410 sounds like mush to me and the horn is weak and doesn't cut enough.
You can EQ a somewhat reasonable sound, but for me it takes too much work and I'm never satisfied with the results.
Not for my tastes...always lacks articulate clarity and oomph.
Not a fan of neo speakers sound.....yet!
Just mine and a few other bass playing friends and speaker designers I know.....as always ymmv

I like the MB cabs that i've tried.
I chose the combination of the Traveller 102p and the STD 102HF which gives a very balanced sound (and it's 4 ohms).
The 102p can lack lows at high volume (not surprising considering its size ) and the 102hf's darker voicing makes a powerful pairing.
I'm not a fan of high end sizzle in a slap sound preferring a more old school tone but with Markbass it all depends on the sound of the bass.
