Markbass cabs with Crown XTI4000

So i use a crown xti 4000 as my head, and have a Petrounov Preamp going to it. I plan on buying a markbass 410hr and 115hr. My question is should i buy 8ohms cabs and run my power amp in bridge mode and daisy chain the 15 from the 410 (makes a 4ohms load). Or buy 4 ohms cabs and use a left and a right output (4 ohm load to each cab).

what are your thoughts?

That's a seriously powerful amp for those cabs but will be fine if you are careful with the volume and listen to your cabs. I'd pick up 8 ohm cabs and bridge but the 115 cab will be the weak point in that setup and will probably not give you any benefit of additional low end. I'd personally go with either 2-410s or 2-115s.

I don't find either cab appealing. If you must use the 410+115 go with each cab on it's own side so you can keep from blowing the 115 with the 410 cranked.

Either way, it won't make much difference, but like he said above, a 15 and 410 are not highly recommended around here for many good scientific reasons. 8 ohm cabs are more common and easier to sell

2000w per channel? 4000w bridged? You like the smell of burned up speakers?

You can use one cab per channel in an effort to put less power into the 15, neither cab will put up with half of what a single channel can put out. Use the dsp limiting and eq.

I'd biamp the 4x10 as the sub and use the 15 for highs. Actually, since you haven't bought them yet, total rethink time!

Everybody gets scared when they hear XTI 4000 but i have actually been using that power amp for years now. I run it thru a basson 810 that handles 2000 watts, and most of the time i use a schroeder 2 12" that is rated at 1000 watts. I have never blown a speaker yet. AT 8ohms the xti would put 650 watts per channel... so maybe run the 410 in one channel and 115 in the other channel that way i can control volume separately?

or maybe ill go with 2 410s and run the XTI in bridge and daisy chain the cabs?

how bout running different Ohms to each channel. For example the 410 would be 4 ohms on output 1, and the 115 would be 8 ohms on output 2? is that ok to do?

Yes, but my mind is thinking it takes a lot of peeing in a pool to see (hear) the difference for the effort?

The cab impedance ought to be immaterial if the amp is 650w RMS into 8 ohms.

+1 to all above- re-think pairing a 115 with a 410. It's not what it's cracked up to be, and very poorly matched. 2 of the same, (ie: 410's) is a much smarter plan.

Sir, you've got a DSP enabled power amp. Run each cab on it's own channel, set vol and limiters accordingly for each cabinet, and low pass whatever cabinet is going to be closest to the floor in the 400hz - 700hz range and you'll be far ahead of the game.

So whats ur ideal cabs? I currently use basson 810 for touring which i love but its 230 lbs... Locally i use schroeder 212 but lacks heavily in the bottom end department.. Have used ampeg in the past and doesnt cut it, behringer no need to explain there. I like eden cabs but im looking for lightweight stuff.. I tried gk neo but preferred the markbass tone..

For me, a fEARless F215 or two. 70 pounds, will spank your Basson easily.

For me? I play a pair of Ampeg PN-115's but have played many others as well. I am not picky at all and as long as its at least an average cab I can get my sound out of it and be happy. It comes down to what sounds the best to you and whatever you think can do the gig without you wanting more.

Diver size tells you nothing about how low a cab will go.
