You know, I had that cab on order at one time, and I cancelled it and got another B-15 cab instead. I've since decided that adding an extension cab is not only overkill for most of my gigs, but it kind of defeats the purpose of having the combo, which is to make my life easier. I have a lot of other rigs I can use when I'm less concerned with making my load-in easy. So now I'm going to only use the combo by itself.

Yeah, I understand what you mean about the extension cab defeating the purpose of the combo, up to a point. For me portability is really important. But I don't mind using an extension cab with mine as both boxes are really light (210 combo 44 lbs, Traveller 15 about 37lbs). I can carry one in each hand no problem, so with a bass gig bag on my back and my other bag (leads, charts, and so on) over my shoulder it's a one trip load in from the car for most gigs. :)

I've had my LMII for a year now and love it.
My cabs are Dr. Bass 2460 and 1260 3way cabs. Both sound great with the LMII. The 1260 is not that heavy but it's bulky enough to make me want a combo amp for zooming around to reheasal and jam nights were the racked LMII with tuner and 1260 get to be a pain for the really small spaces etc. My 1260 is 8ohms so I could use it with a combo if I wanted, but like Jimmy, I'd probably just bring a bigger rig.

Therefore I'm jonesing for a combo.
Not sure if the 121p or the Berlin would be my preference.

Trouble is.. I sorta kinda tried these combos in GC just briefly and was not immediately impressed with the sound or volume. I perplexed by this as so many say the MB combos are so loud and effiecient. ???

You're never going to get SVT performance out of a single 12" or even a 210. But as far as tiny cabs go, I think they're very efficient. I can make mine scream pretty loud when I want. The sound of Markbass cabs, however, is definitely unique and can't really be appreciated until you play a gig or two with them. They're a lot like a Precision in that regard. Not as many deep lows, maybe a little goose in the upper mids, etc.

I took the 12" combo because it's tiny. I thought the Berlin combo sounded better, though. Bigger cab and bigger speaker and no tweeter, so it's got a bigger kick to it. But they sound similar other than that, with very similar tonalities. All Markbass cabs have that sound, even their 810 cab.

What were you comparing it to? I'm fortunate enough to be in the position where I can easily try it against other combos,and I'm happy that they're as good as everyone says.

I ordered the 12" combo the other day. I was considering a GK mb combo but after all I've read on TB about it I decided to give the Markbass a try. I'm working in a jazz quartet and my Ampeg BA112 (which has served me well up to now) seems no longer able to cut it- so I'm looking forward to having the extra wattage and dropping 10 lbs off my load in.

Unfortunately, just as I decided to pull the trigger and buy it, all retailers online came up out of stock until 9/10. These little guys must be one hot item. I've got a good feeling about this.
