Markbass combo 121 lite Alain Caron Driver?

Hi there, hopefully someone can help me out here. What 12" driver is this combo 'spose to have? I pulled the driver out to test the tweeter was working and it's a "yellow line 12LVY1-8 8ohm".

Isn't that a regular 121P/H 400w driver? I understood from Alains' YouTube vid that it's a "special" 12" custom driver with better exertion etc to handle the 500w. What did I miss? Searched the web for info and nothings.

Thanks in advance

A1

That does appear to be the standard 400/8 ohm driver. I don't think the 121 Lite combo got the upgraded speaker.
I think it was this combo:

Now, I'm not 100% sure so best you ask Markbass. Did you buy new?

Thanks for your replies. I bought used, 2015 on back of the amp. I did email Markbass and they replied :-

"that's the woofer we mount on our cabinets"

I was just wasn't convinced with the answer due to the bi-amp 500w going to a 400w driver and Alain's YouTube video talking about a custom 12" driver.

just thought it revealing to see these 12" drivers side by side. Clearly the Super has a larger dust cover than the lite.

Thanks SJan3,

I guess I'll need to accept the answers given. It does however make me ask why I bought this combo over the 121H? Full wattage to the same driver but no ext cab option?

I can feel an eBay listing coming on!

"COMBO 121 LITE is a powerful bi-amp combo, now updated with a 300W power amp for the new compression driver, and 500W power amp for the 12" speaker with maximum fidelity, headroom and dynamics"

Yea, the no extension cabinet option baffles me. But if the amp sounds great and serves your purpose then I'd roll with it, assuming you got a good deal? I think the 121H has been discontinued as well. People want a light, one cabinet solution. We're all getting lazy! Your amp should have a great full range voice with dedicated power amps for each driver.
At any rate, let us know how you like the amp and whether you keep it, or not.
Thanks!
