markbass-eden-tcelectronic...frankenstien!

Hi all!
ive got a bit of a question regarding a potential amp rig. i read some of the FAQ's and was slightly overwhelmed..
i currently have an eden nemesis N15S combo with a TC electronic BC210 cab as an extension.

I am looking to up grade soon, and have come across a used eden d410XLT for a good price, if its in good condition when i look at it i will buy it. it is 8 ohm with a 700 watt rating.
my plan (when i get the moneys in a few months) is to pair it up with a markbass little tube 800 - giving ~500 watts at 8 ohm and ~ 800 watts at 4 ohm. from what i gather it is small and versatile and i like the idea of the tube pre amp adding some warmth. also my bass teacher has the 500 version and he is a god on bass :P

i have two questions;
firstly, what are your opinions with this combination?
my playing style is mostly finger and some slap, i play anything from Harvey Mason to Kyuss... but my gigging band is heavy stoner rock.

secondly, i was thinking since i have the BC210 cab (250 watts at 8 ohm) could i combine this with the d410xlt and the markbass amp to utilise its 4 ohm capabilities? my concern is the BC210 is its 250watt rating

The 500w Little Mark tube (class A/B) is much warmer than the 800w (class D) version and from my experience neither is particularly tubey.
The Markbass TTE 500 is very tubey (and loud) and would seem to fit your requirements perfectly. An 800w version has been announced.
I had a 410XLT years ago and they are good cab.

You certainly can combine the two cabs, but its not a great plan. They'll split the wattage evenly, meaning your 2x10 will get the same wattage as the 4x10. You'll only be able to go as loud as the 2x10 will allow, and you're much more likely to destroy the speakers in that cab.

I have a LMT800 with an Eden D410T (4ohm) and I love it! The head would be too much power for the cab if I ran it full blast, but the gain and master are usually somewhere around 9:00 and I don't need to go any hotter than that even when playing a 300+ seat room.

It's true that the LMT will *not* give you "tubey goodness" if that's what you're after. There's no distortion or tube "thickness" to be had there, really - the tube pre is just a slightly different voicing, in effect, than the solid state pre. I prefer the tube pre side of the dial myself, but it's nice to have options. Add in the 4-band eq and the two filter controls, and there is a huge range of sound. One thing I do wish is that there was more high end "sheen" on the MarkBass stuff - that's the only thing I find lacking, having owned a LMIII previously also.

I played an LMlll through an Eden 210 XLT and loved it. I would still have it if the cab didn't weigh 70 something pounds. (Going lighter). It's a beast and can really rock. Low mid punch and a wonderful open sounding bottom end.

I've been very happy with the LM. It's one of the warmest sounding non-tube amps and was plenty warm enough for me.

Definitely don't combine a 210 and a 410 cab. You won't even hear the 210.

If you have a big budget, there are some TBers making amazing cabinets. Look into the Audiokinesis Thunderchild 115 and Greenboy's fEARfuls.
