Markbass LMK discontinued, but why?

I've been using an LMII for a few years now. Last night, I replaced it with the two-channel LMK. Playing synth bass and electric interchangeably on a lot more gigs, the separate EQ and channel mixing/switching made the LMK a no-brainer.

This thing is every bit as good, and nicer-looking to boot (subjective, I know, but it isn't orange, has more blue lights and knobs :D) With flexible options like two separate EQ for one input and blending, I don't know why there hasn't been more of a buzz about the LMK!

Anyone know why Markbass discontinued this amp with no clear replacement (LMII vs LMIII)?

I realizer there's a two-channel MoMark equivalent, but it lacks the smaller form factor. I guess there wasn't enough of a market to justify another model?

It looks like they are still producing the 'acoustic doubler' amp... lower power, but with additional features for the guys who double EB and DB. My guess is, most of those guys are looking for more features versus pure power, so that will fill the need for most of them. For those who need more power, as you mentioned above, you can go 500, 600 or 800 watts in the slighly larger Momark format.

The LMK has simply been replaced by the MoMark LMK.

Yes, it's slightly larger and slightly heavier, but it includes a pre/post EQ switch and has the flexibility of the MoMark system, meaning you can change any of the modules at any time.

If you prefer the LMK and have one, great!

Will GC/MF carry the whole line of modules. So far, the selection is minimal, which kind of defeats the purpose.

Also, Will the Momark LMK be available in the states? When?

Yes, they will, and all the newer modules are on order and should be available in the US within the next 1-2 months.
There are also all kinds of plans for new upcoming modules.
If any of you have specific ideas, we're all ears!

Just got my discontinued LMK and I love it. Apparently, it was the last one from Musician's Friend. I decided not to wait on the Momark LMK because this one has the VPF for each channel instead of a master VPF and it was $150 cheaper (not counting extra modules). Might buy another one JIC.

Peter, please please make a full-featured module version of the Compressore!

My ideal module set would be:
1) two inputs, footswitchable A/B, each with independent gain controls;
2) Compressore;
3) EQ featuring one band of fully parametric EQ, one sweepable notch filter, and low/high shelving;
4) DI assignable pre/post EQ and pre/post Compressore.
