MarkBass or Mesa Boogie?

i personally like markbass, but the only way to see what's best is to try them out.
dont take other folks word for it.

How much are the M6's running right now? I never understood why Mesa keeps the price cards so close to their chests.. And another thing that I've noticed is the tubes in the amps.. Wouldn't the BB750 have a warmer sound since it has 4 tubes as opposed to the M6 with just 2? Anybody have some insight on this?

The M6 is priced at $999 and the M6 combo with 2x12 is $1399...

The BB750 is very similar without the built in mid-scoopage... They both sound awesome!!!!!

They are the premier "boutique" amp company.... Most boutique shops are $1750 and up for an amp... kinda like Thunderfunk...

I played my TF 550 w a MESA Powerhouse 2x10 yesterday and it sounded awesome... The cabinets are a huge component and they both sound great individually!!!

Different tone indeed. I went for the Mark Bass personally but I admit some of the choice was driven the darn portability of the rig. Mark Bass has the best decibel/pound ratio by far of anything I've seen. Personally, I find with a bit of tweaking I can get a nice rock growl out of it as well.

my concern would be product support
i have never been happy with european support
whether it was hiwatt, sound city, marshall, wem, hh, framus, or hofner
of course there support got better over the years
but markbass is italian, has anyone here had any experience with their support?
i recall waiting months for replacement parts
and that can happen,
that is one more reason i would vote mesa

Support is great. If something goes wrong, they give you a new one. Mesa support is awesome also.

Again, these brands sound SO different that they really don't compete IMO. Totally different design and tone goals.
