Markbass or Stingray issue?

Hi there, i have one issue with my current setup MM Stingray classic 5 + markbass LM II + markbass traveler 102p 4 ohms...bass boosting on stingray makes significant fart when LM is turned more then 3/10,also when i turned bass knob on amp more than a half...with my another Stingray, regular one or Yamaha rbx 170 there is no farting...also when i tried LM II + MM Classic 5 with eden nemesis nsp 115 there was farting again...i dont know what is the problem,maybe i need amp with -10,12,15 db pad?

Leave the tone controls on the bass alone.Leave them centered,and set your tone on your amp,and leave it there. If you are using a 2x10 cab,you aren't going to be able to push it hard anyway. A little boost on a Mucic Man goes a long way.

It's a cab issue more than anything. I use a LMIII as a backup amp and my StingRay's tone knobs are always at 100%. A 2x10 simply isn't going to be able to handle what you're putting into it.

I've tried on a several cabs as i said (nemesis 115, fender bassman 215, some DIY cabs) and there was the same problem.
I have no center point or flat point on Classic Stingray, there was on regular Stingray which i played with everything( 3 band eq,bass,mid,treble) at full,10/10 and there was not farting.
Is this bass so "strong" like MM Bongo or something like that? I want to use a full capacity of my bass,there is no sense to have it and to not use it at all.

You're getting the same problem with different cabs because it's the bass (Stingray) that's giving you the problem.

It's still an active preamp, so it's going to boost the frequencies. I'm going to assume that it's a boost only preamp? And that full off 0/10 would be considered flat. Start there...

You were using a 3 band Stingray with all of the controls (treble, mid, and bass) all full on 10/10? Really?

The Classic 'Ray has no center detent, but offers a LOT of boost, so you need to keep the bass pot as close to center as you reasonably can. Your rig is fine. Your just overloading it from boosting too much bass frequencies.

You can't add a second cab because your 210 is 4 ohms already. If you want that kind of bass boost and be loud, you cannot use a 210 or a 115 or any small cab. At the very least, I would use nothing smaller than a 215 or 410 rig at the very least. You're simply asking too much out of a small cab and that's all there is to it.

Just send that stingray over my way, problem solved.:p

All but one of my basses are active, and none of them have seen more than maybe 1/8 to 1/4 turn on the bass boost. Running an active bass with the bass full on is your problem, but it seems like thats not what you want to hear so you keep asking.

classic ray is MORE boost than cut... Running it full on is crazy. I use one too and I NEVER go over 50% with my bass knob (unless I want my overdrive to go al smooshy, which I occassionally do *guilty*).

You're not wasting potential if you're not running it 100%. The stingray isn't specially designed for Spînal Tap. The knobs don't go to eleven, giving you more power the higher you go. They go +1 and -1. The neutral point being somewhere around 20-30% imo for the bass button.
