I went to Giutar Center today and to my surprise saw a bunch of orange and black cabs and heads... turned out to be Markbass.
I played through my usual set up to try basses there (Aguilar DB750-GS210-GS212) but before I left I decided to try out the 2x10 combo.
I picked it up and realized it was AMAZINGLY light, only seemed to be 20 lbs or so. I plugged in with a used sunburst stingray with almost dead strings and was fairly impressed. I'm not used to amps with a high mid and low mid knob so it took some time to get that set but once it I did I was playing away for a good 20 minutes.
It seemed great, pretty loud, clear and easy to use. Then I saw the pricetag... $999. I looked to see what the power was and it said 280. Now I jsut went to the Markbass site and looked at the 2x10 combo and it doesn look the same as the one I played through. I was thinking that it sounds great for what it weighs but the pricetag was a bit high for the power rating.
Now just now I was thinking that maybe with an extension cab it brings out more. I'm guessing the 2x10 is rated at 280 watts and with an extension cab it's more, maybe around 400-450?
Anyone have and idea? If this is true than that thing has some major bang for buck and possibly mr name on it.
Btw on the amp face, it said I think 280WT.
