Ah, I see. The HD-500 has a very tight yet full and forceful low end, and this is where it seems to excel versus the WWU. It reminds me of the iAMP 800 in that regard. But, the HD-500 also has a nice airy bright high end (which the iAMP does not have). Ultimately, it doesn't have the headroom of the WWU (or the iAMP 800), but up to its usable volume (still finding those limits), it presents a tone which I like a whole lot. The WWU probably has sweeter upper mids, though, and that overall Woods mojo. In fact, I am probably premature in saying that I prefer the HD-500 to the WWU, but I did like it better with a certain cab (LDS neo 3-way 3x8) at a certain volume, with a certain bass.

I did get the Markbass Mini CMD 121P combo. These are VERY preliminary comments. I tried it a bit on DB and BG. My comments will be for DB only as that's where I heard the difference. Overall, it retains the wonderful Markbass sound - a sound that to date, has no equal for DB or BG in my experience. However, focusing in closer and looking for 'defects', it seemed to be a bit inaccurate on the first few positions of the 'G' string. I hear this hollowness on the 151P cabinet, but much less there. Here, this inaccuracy is more pronounced. The overall sound was also somehow compressed in comparison to the separate cabinets - I tried it vs. the 121H cabinet for a minute and the 121H seemed to have a noticable fuller sound. That's not to say the Mini is not gig-worthy; it seems to have a lot of power on tap.

Preliminary conclusion? Another very nice product but not the sonic equal of the separate Traveler cabs. Note that the Traveler 102P is a very narrow cabinet allowing you to carry it comfortably like a briefcase. The Mini is 'chunkier'. To me, the 102P and the separate head in a shoulder bag is about the same 'haul' as the Mini CMD 121P but with a superior sound.

Thanks for the preliminary review. The MarkBass site has the Traveler 102P weighing in at 33 lbs and the LMKII head at 6.39 lbs (almost 40 lbs) whereas the mini CMD 121p weighs 29.3 lbs. About 10 lbs more.

With separate heads, the LMK with two channels looks interesting.

Right you are. Note that I'm being very critical of the Mini - but Markbass has raised the bar and I have to be honest about what I hear. I will keep my Mini because although a little bulkier than just the 102P it is all you have to take with you. On the other hand I do think the 102P's shape makes it easier to carry and offsets the weight. Of course, you also have to take the head. If I had to pick one of these rigs only, it would be the 102P/LMK without hesitation; it's much more versatile. I wonder if the new MarkAcoustic 10" 23lb combo will sound like...

Hey Wilbyman,
As proof of my satisfaction with Markbass, I offer the fact that I'm currently NOT :rollno: in the market for any amps or speakers other than 'rounding out' my small assortment of Markbass pieces to cover all basses (pun intended). Yes, it's true, I can be 'taken out of the market' (as Arnold and Wil did for me with DB's). There are a few interesting things out there I haven't tried, but they are either too heavy or don't have matching heads that are lightweight. I'm Markbass content.

Hi all... I have to correct that rumour.
No US prices have been set!
I told someone the Micromark might retail around $500 (very approximate) and this was misunderstood.
We will do our best to keep our prices down, but rest assured we will not compromise on quality and quality control.
I'll keep you all posted!

I'm interressted in a little mark II (2nd hand,like new, very good price) but I do not have a lot of money so I would take a behringer ba210 to work with
Wil it be a very bad idea? I'm I going to "loose" the quality of the MB using such a cab?

Just wanted to say that i just bought a new amp and cab. Little mark II and a EBS neo-112. not tried it in a live-situation yet but my first impression is :) . I have a bassmax pick-up on my DB and maybe the 500kohm impedance is not enough. It sounded a bit thin and some fingernoise were there...but i still have some EQ-ing to do. I have a fishman probass preamp but i would like to go straight into the head, im a plug and play guy.

i have a similar combination,

lmk f1 + gk neo 112. had my first rehearsal with that yesterday. i am very satisfied. the 500k input works well with the full circle. no preamp required.
eq was nearly flat. fantastic sound, very loud, clear, transparent + dynamic.
