Hey all, I am looking at ordering one of these. This to be specific:
Well, almost exactly that. First, it'll be lefty which the config doesn't show. Second, I am trying to figure out bridge and pickups. Anyone have his standard bridge? Any reason to upgrade? And, if I do, which friggin one? I know pretty much nothing about all of those different hipshots... As for pickups, I had (just sold) a Fender American Professional, and with GHS Precision strings, I loved the sound. Now I have a Regenerate Guitar Works 5 string P with a Nordstrand NP-5, which with the same strings also sounds fantastic. I am looking at the Delano PC 5 since a few reviews seem to like it, but I don't really know anything about the three options he has. It'll be Passive, if that helps. Any advice appreciated!

Doing up the P body with Jazz neck dichotomy. 32"scale. The Kickass bridge and rail pickup are so I can adjust string spacing.

Next try - you can clearly see the body on the 24frets Jake differs from that with only 21 frets (and does not look so nice ...).
Closed a deal on a parts exchange Mensinger Cazpar. New bass, but bought it from Bass Direct.

I didn't received it yet. I made a deal for 2 30". A passive Serek and this active Cazpar.
Sold the Warwick Starbass II and the Sandberg California VM4.
When I get it, I'll post a review, if you guys are interested. Two very different basses. I will keep these two and my Fender P. I am selling my Maruszczyk Fretless also.
Please do review. Those Cazpars look amazing....but a bit small..
I am really really thinking about saving for custom Elwood L 4 stringers, one fretless one fretted. Yellow nitro passive with Nordy J Blades and clear pickguard. BUT I need info on neck feel since I can not try them myself. I would go for roasted maple necks with graphite rods and smallest specs on nut, 34".
Thing is I am very peculiar about neck width and depth. I like necks in Geddy Lee or Blade bass ballpark (thin fast necks). Can some proud owner of Elwood 4 share some comparison on this topic, some first hand info? Thanks!

The neck on my Elwood is the most comfortable that I've played....
Mine is rock maple with an Ebony fingerboard....
40 mm nut....
14 inch radius....
Frets get a little complicated....
Bought it fretted.....decided that I needed it defretted....
Had a word with our own @Jon Clegg and he did the work beautifully for me....
(Fretless lines were done with Luminlay markers).....
I'm so happy with the shape and playabilty of this neck, that I've asked Jon to recreate it on a bass that he's building for me at the moment......
