Bought it fretted.....decided that I needed it defretted....
Had a word with our own @Jon Clegg and he did the work beautifully for me....
(Fretless lines were done with Luminlay markers).....

I'm so happy with the shape and playabilty of this neck, that I've asked Jon to recreate it on a bass that he's building for me at the moment......

Thanks, but is it thin and how it compares to for instance 60' thiner Fender C profile or similar (I see that you mentioned your's have wider nut, I would go for smaller)?

Didn't think that I'd be much help...

I can't compare to a Fender C....Haven't played one....Haven't played ANY Fender lol......Am I the last?....

I would describe the neck as thin, certainly NOT yer baseball bat type....but...

If I might suggest, an e-mail to Adrian would get any questions that you have, answered way more accurately than anyone on this forum can....:thumbsup:

I am just trying to get a little unbiased info, sending an e-mail to company wouldn't exactly be that.
I will email him if I decide to purchase and when I plan it money-wise (4900€ is not exactly small amount for me (I would need to sell some and save for maybe even a year to realize final purchase.)
That's why I asked, with some options off I could save so 2 basses would cost almost 900€ less but where is a fun in that (since it should be a one-life-time custom bass.). It would still be serious money so first thing logical to me was to ask users and past users of Elwood 4 L about neck profile/thickness since that happens to be deciding factor for me when "bonding" with J bass. I want it to feel slim and fast (sort-of).

Assuming the 38mm necks on the Elwood and Jakes are the same, my 38mm Jake neck feels slightly thicker front to back than my Fender J with a "Modern C" neck. I think it feels great, but if you are really picky about neck profile, maybe you shouldn't order a bass you've never played.

Yes, that would be wise.. I agree.
I already have almost perfect bass (it is cheap Blade B1 tetra). It have slim profile neck and sounds stellar.
Thing is it is quite heavy and it bugs me even with Mono widest strap, also I would prefer satin neck and if I can choose colors :) all the better :). So I am willing to invest in something similar to my current bass but improved (so I would not go modding rout with old basses but sell them instead) and with mirrored fretless sister. I am picky about neck (I am not for example fond of my Mexican Fender J standard fretless neck bulkiness) and I think you are right with warning me.
Does Adrian do custom thin necks non related with configuration tool?

TOP 3 but witch to choose? 1-2-3? 3 is cheapest, so it is would be a rational pick, but for the sake of fun, which would you choose, yellow nitro, gloss gold sparkle or natural matt? They all have the same specs and color chosen would be done in fretless and freted version. Opinions welcome!

Is that antique brown? I've seen some pictures of that color and it's my favorite they offer, but it seems it's a discontinued color. At least they don't offer it in their customization tool anymore.
