Double Bass MAS 110

Just curious how the new MAS 110 sounds with double bass. I play with some loud bands and I wonder if a powered 10 would be the final single speaker MAS cab for upright if you wanted it all or if the 8 is really the sweet spot. At 29 pounds it is not a feather weight (but I have a 16) the 46 I have now is around 40 lb I think. maybe less...feels like 40 pounds. I know when I have the big pocket on the case loaded up with a music stand and ipad and cords it is not much fun to schlep in the rain.
What I really wish is that Mike would include wheels and a telescoping handle on some of these cabs so you could avoid a cart. That would be dope.

From my reading, it sounds like it’s got great well defined midrange and perhaps a little less low end. Since I own a powered MAS 1/8 and powered MAS 4x5.5 those are the sweet spots for me.

I have a MAS 112, so though not exactly the same maybe my experience can be helpful. I have not played any other of his cabs, so I don't have any frame of reference to his 8, 16 or 46 or whatever. I can just compare it to the bunch of "normal" cabs I've had over my lifetime.

I can say that I find the cab to be very clear sounding and can get easily loud enough for any of the louder jazz/rock fusion stuff I do. When I'm loud I blend in a magnetic pickup, so obviously I sacrifice some of the natural tone at high volumes. But playing at moderate volume with just a piezo I find the cab to project very well some of the more nuanced mid/high frequency content for the upright bass and it has a "natural" bass frequency footprint.

I thought that the 110 and 112 did have options for a handle and kickback wheels?

Since Mike hasn’t officially put the new 110 and 112 up on the MAS Soundworks site yet its hard to know
what all the new options will be. For me as both a DB and EB player the weight, size, power handling, timbre and definition of the MAS 1/8 is ideal for both basses.! While a 29 lb 10 is something I look forward trying out the powered MAS 4x5.5 definitely has the edge for DB. Just my take. His Facebook page has pictures of all three cabs side by side.

The 110 sounds great on upright. The 112's are not as good for jazz upright, but really good on slap, rockabilly,etc.No wheels, but the profile is the same as the 18--just bigger. Works great as a floor wedge. I love the 45's. I just wish I could get a custom 5 that would work. That way I could recommend it for EB as well. The 8's and 10's work really well for DB---more weight in the note than the 45.

Gotta' tell you Mike when you built the powered 4x5.5 I just acquired from "Jazzer Country in Las Vegas you broke the mold. This cabinet has incredible edge definition exceptionally smooth bass response. The MAS 1/8 is a really unbelievable cabinet and really nice to load in and out
and it does have a different low end profile, but I like em' both.
