Do you mean something like does brand X work with brand Y?
There is no answer to that, IMHO, because sometimes even cabs from the same maker don't sound good together.
For example, I added an SWR goliath III Jr. 2x10 to an SWR Workingman's 15. I could never get clear low mids. I sold the WM15 and got an SWR 350 head and a son of bertha. They loved to be paired with the goliath Jr. 2x10.
There are, I'm sure, plenty of mixed bag rigs that work, though. Perhaps others will describe their rigs.
