I feel like I saw a similar thread a long time ago but I couldn't find it. Is there a way to see if the neck serial number on my 92 p bass matches the body? I got the bass used last summer and I love it. It has a fairly unique color, a metallic burgundy. I brought it in for a setup and some fretwork. They suggested that it's not a fender body because of the color and no stamp in the heel at all. They also noticed touch up paint, almost sharpie like in the heel.
